Serological responses to CPV, detected by a haemagglutination inhibition test in young dogs following vaccination with Vanguard® 7, and subsequent challenge with a CPV2c field strain.

All 7 study animals were seronegative (<10) for CPV prior to vaccination verifying their SPF status. At the time of the second vaccination, all 5 animals in the vaccinated group had HAI titers of ≥ 640, well above the protective titer of 80.1 Following the second vaccination and challenge, HAI titers in the vaccinated animals remained high at levels above 320. Control group animals had titers of 20 to 40 until day 42, confirming lack of exposure to CPV prior to challenge. Titers of neutralizing antibodies were ≥320 for the vaccinated group, ranging from 320 to 640 against CPV2c.
